2020년 스펙트럼 갤러리에서는 곽수영, Ana Kim 작가가 참여한 개관전 『Stubborn Visionaries』를 기획 하였다. 이 전시는 10월 6일부터 11월 5일까지 이태원 경리단길에 위치한 스펙트럼 갤러리에서 진행된다. 젊은 두명의 예술가들이 세상을 바라보는 신선한 시각은 감상하는 이들에게 의문을 제시하고 작품이 담고있는 이야기에 대한 호기심을 자극한다. 화폭에 배열되어 있는 물체와 상황은 현실 속에서 가능하거나 불가능한 것들의 혼합이며 작가의 규칙 안에서 재 조합된 결과물이다. 그 누군가의 공감을 구하기도 하지만 그것에 연연하지 않겠다는 고집스러운 젊은 공상가들의 세계관을 경험하는 전시가 될 것이다.

Now in the year 2020, our Spectrum Gallery has kickstarted with the opening exhibition of Stubborn Visionaries, a dual exhibition of artists Kwak Soo Young and Ana Kim. This exhibition, open from the 6th of October to the 5th of November, will be held in our gallery located in Gyoungridan-Gil Road, Itaewon. The new perspective of the two young artists in observing the modern world makes the viewers question the stories behind the artworks. The situation and objects portrayed within the canvases are a concoction of both possible and impossible elements of the reality, which are then eventually redesigned under the rules of the artists. I hope this exhibition would be an enlightening opportunity for the viewers to experience the universe of these stubborn visionaries who are willing to seek artistic empathy yet do not dwell on it for long.
